Layering is where a streetwear outfit goes from "I got dressed" to "I put this together." The trick is controlling length, weight and color so each layer is visible and nothing bunches. Here are five formulas that always work.
1. Hoodie under a denim jacket
The all-time classic. Pull the hood out over the collar of the jacket and let the hoodie's hem sit just below the jacket's. Choose a jacket with room in the shoulders. If you plan to wear our regular-fit Denim Vintage Washed Heavyweight Jacket over a heavy hoodie, consider sizing up one.
2. Long sleeve peeking under a short tee
Wear a long sleeve under a boxy short-sleeve tee and let the cuffs show. Contrasting colors look more deliberate than matching ones. Short on time? The Unisex Vintage Wash Layered T-Shirt does it in one piece.
3. Crewneck over a long-line tee
Let a few centimetres of a white or washed tee show under a heavyweight crewneck like the Snow Wash Oversized Crewneck Sweatshirt. It breaks up the outfit and adds depth.
4. Zip hoodie open over a graphic tee
An open zip hoodie frames the graphic on your tee and adds a layer you can take off when it warms up. Try the Contrast-Stitched Boxy Fleece Zip Hoodie or the Hand-Frayed Sunfade Zip Hoodie.
5. Track jacket over a hoodie
A lightweight track jacket over a hoodie gives a sporty, retro look. Keep the jacket unzipped and the hoodie in a solid color. See the Unisex Striped Full-Zip Track Jacket.

Layering rules
- Light to heavy, inside out. Thinnest layer closest to the body, heaviest outside.
- Stagger the hems. Each layer should be a little longer or shorter than the one above it so you can see both.
- Size your outer layer for what's underneath. If a jacket feels tight over a hoodie, size up the jacket, not the hoodie.
- Two colors, max three. Washed neutrals with one accent always look intentional.
